SK Council Officials 2007-present
SK Chairwoman:
Maria Isabel J. Macasieb
SK Councilors:
(from the highest to lowest # of votes)
Anna Marie Calumpang
Kevin Lacida
Carl Rhamel Adavan
Mary Chirene Capa
GJ Joash Quijoy
Mary June Faye Giganto
Genrose Gabaya
*The Campaign Period*
SaKaNaDiBa (SAmahan ng mga KAbataang NAglilingkod sa DIyos at BAyan), the official banner party of all winning SK Council members of Brgy. Buru-un was organized by the First Lady of the said barangay, Mrs. D'vincet Quijoy. Active and dynamic, the party easily won the hearts of the youth in the barangay during the campaign period. SaKaNaDiBa expected that a rival party would also emerge, however, 2 days before the Election (October 29, 2007 is the Election date), the COMELEC announced that only their party filed for candidacy. Of the 165 registered voters, only 65 turned up due to the fact that whether or not they vote or not, the party will still win. During the Exit Poll Q&A, majority of the 65 voters said that they would have not voted (walang kalaban kasi)if not for their want to experience how it is to vote (exercise their right to suffrage). Lead by SMCMCS and ICNSF Valedictorian, student leader and youth advocate, Miss Macasieb, the group is expected to help the Sports Development and Youth Empowerment Committee of the community with the supervision of 3-termer Punong Barangay Glenn A. Quijoy. (original article, *The Campaign* written by The New Gazette editor)
